Disgruntled worker probed over killing of three orang utan

KOTA KINABALU: A former worker disgruntled with his employer is being

investigated over the killing of three orang utan at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria

Resort here last week.

Tuaran OCPD Deputy Supt Abdul Karim Abu Bakar said police were pursuing all

possibilities and were recording statements from employees of the resort as well

those of an adjacent resort.

He said police also interviewed villagers living near the resort, where the

orang utan were being rehabilitated at the nature reserve.

Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort is offering RM50,000 and the Royal London Circus

RM10,000 for information leading to the arrest of those who speared the orang

utan.

DSP Karim said there has been no information yet despite the rewards offered.
