Guest guest Posted July 31, 2003 Report Share Posted July 31, 2003 10 Horses Seized by Hamilton\Burlington SPCA - Charges Pending Wednesday, July 30, 2003 Hamilton, Ontario: Acting upon information received from the Hamilton Police Force, 10 horses were seized from a location on Book Road in Ancaster this morning by Hamilton\Burlington SPCA Animal Protection Officer Vivian LaFlamme and assisted by members of the Hamilton Police Force. According to Dr. M. Mogavero, DVM, who attended the scene, 3 of the horses are in serious condition, but are expected to recover. The horses will be assessed, monitored and receive appropriate treatment. The 10 horses are presently being transported to an undisclosed location in Ancaster where they will receive medical treatment. Charges are pending in this case. The complete cost of this morning's seizure, which includes the transportation of the horses, veterinary expenses, and subsequent food, care, and lodging of the horses, will be paid completely by the Hamilton\Burlington SPCA. Thanks to our generous community and their on-going support we are able to alleviate the suffering and save the lives of these beautiful horses. This seizure will put a strain on the resources of the Hamilton\Burlington SPCA.
