Guest guest Posted June 25, 2003 Report Share Posted June 25, 2003 Restaurateur fined. 06/25/2003 The Malay Mail P4 © 2003 New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad RESTAURATEUR Cha Ah Kew, 41, of Bahau, Negri Sembilan, was fined RM3,400 in default a month's jail by the Magistrate's Court for keeping the meat of wild animals without a permit. Magistrate Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin imposed the sentence yesterday after Cha pleaded guilty to the offences. Cha illegally kept the meat and the hide of a tiger, two skinned pangolins, two dead owls and four skinned civet cats at Lot 483, Lorong 23, Taman ACBE, Bahau, Jempol about about 11.45pm on May 28. All the animals and birds are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
