Guest guest
- " Cat Welfare Society " <info " Admin " <info Saturday, May 24, 2003 10:37 AM Help urgently needed for cats in Singapore Dear everyone, It is with an extremely heavy heart that I write to tell you that all news of a culling campaign is true. The authorities have been culling the cats for the past few days but now have come out to admit that they are doing so, after denying it just yesterday morning. We are appealing to all of you for any help you can give us :- http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/storyprintfriendly/0,1887,190766,00.html? http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/40505/1/.html http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/todaynews/view/685/1/.html The cats are registered under a government initative, the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore's Stray Cat Rehabilitation Scheme. These cats are sterilised and cared for by the volunteers. This scheme has been grounded to a halt on the basis of public hygiene. We are appealing for your help urgently, in terms of medical advice to show cats are not a public health menance, and for you to show that the international animal welfare organisations stand on the side of the stray cats in Singapore. Regards, Dawn Kua of Operations for Cat Welfare Society
