Dear Animal Activist,

 

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is expanding its efforts

in order to focus more on East Asia. We have our work cut out for us. As

you know, meat and dairy-product consumption is on the rise in Asia,

factory farming is spreading, along with its inherent filth,

overcrowding, and systematic abuse of farmed animals, whom it treats as

products rather than as living beings. In addition, because of the fall

of fur sales in the U.S. and Europe, the fur industry has turned to

Asia, both as a cheap place to raise animals for pelts and as a new

market for fur products. We need your help, now more than ever, to fight

on behalf of the animals who are suffering and dying in laboratories, on

factory farms, in the fur industry, and in circuses and other forms of

" entertainment.

 

We are currently making an Activist Network, with individuals whom we

call upon for help with anything from tabling events or attending

demonstrations to writing letters or making telephone calls. This will

also enable us to connect you with other activists in your area. Would
