Guest guest
Hello Friends, I have uploaded some photos of ' elephants in truck ' you can view them at http://community.webshots.com/user/sandeep_e There you can see how the elephants get down from the truck.. There are 18 photos showing different steps of elephant getting down from the truck.. Till recent years most of the elephants of Kerala (a state in south India ) were made to walk, even to distant places but now they are being transported in the trucks.. This gives comfort to elephants as they need not walk on the hot roads.. Recently two accidents occurred to the tuskers who were carried in the trucks .. one in which the elephant fell from the truck while the truck had a sudden brake. on another accident the truck carrying elephant collided with another truck and the tusker lost a part of his tusk in the accident.. The trucks carrying the elephants travel at about a speed of about 40-50 Km/hour .. As there is no wind shield for the trucks which carry the elephants , i dont know wether it will cause any harm to the elephant especially to the eyes. The elephant will have to stand still for hours as they are in the truck.... may be some one who knows about elephants can comment about it.. ***************** Dear elephant lovers, i want to inform you about the ' Elephant_tracks " .. here you can discuss anything about elephants.. news regarding elephants, elephant collection etc.. there are also lots of photographs of elephants in the photo section of the group.. so feel free to join the group and share the informations about elephants.. you can get to Elephant_tracks by Elephant_Tracks/ Have a nice day Sandeep
