You will be glad to know that dogs are no longer killed in the Kandy

pound,.All this is the result of the conference.Perhaps you can do the same

at Kotte .You can make use of this leaflet.~

Someone has written this using a pen in the newsletter of Kacpaw and posted

that to me.

 

We are really surprised to hear such remarks as Dr Harischandra Director

Public Health Veterinary services has sent his men and killed dogs using

strichnine at Nugegoda which comes under Kotte Municipal area in February

2003 The Municipal workers has seen that and wereshocked .

Is this the Humane Method of stray dog control recomended by WSPA?

 

In 2002 after the WSPA conferenc for using Humane method of stray dog

control PUblic health veterinary Director Harischandra killed dogs in Open

UniversityNawala and other parts of the island.He has killed the sterilized

dogs and vaccinated dogs in Kotte area.

Kacpaw has misled WSPA and helped a dog killing veterinary surgeon Dr

Harischadra .

How can they say they are helping animals .They are helping to destroy

animals .People like Dr harischandra

andMunicipal vet of Kotte will never change.

The Kotte Municipal Council is selling a collar which will strangulate the

dog if it get entangle some where .

That collar was very uncomfortable and that falls down.

They charge 70 rupees to give Antrabies injection .

They haven`t done the annual vaccination programme and very soon there will

be a rabies out break in Kotte Municipal limit.The best Vaccination

programme is caried out by Health Department and Kotte resident s wants

that.The residents can walk with their dog and get it immunised.They don`t

chage any money.

The things are complicated and WSpa should take the responsiblity for these

unfortunate incidents

I have warned you several times but you didn`t listen .We could have solved

the problem but you have messup the whole thing allowing Dr Harischandra to

conduct the seminar.
