re killing cray fish (lobsters)

Hi,

I live in Western Australia and just spoke to someone who works at a

crayfish

processing plant. They believe the crayfish are killed by drowning in

fresh water.

If the crayfish are the salt water type, does this method sound like it

makes sense to you?

I am not a biologist but I seem to remember that putting salt water fish

in fresh water

caused cell damage (from school biology many years ago). Does this apply

to crayfish

and what level of pain would crayfish experience from drowning in fresh

water?
