Please be instrumental in stopping greyhound racing in Asia. Every letter,

email, fax sent or telephone call made to the corporations responsible for

greyhound racing/killings makes an enormous difference. By registering your

complaint you are showing there is phenomenal support for the greyhounds and

great opposition to their abuse and murder.

Please make it a priority to, at least once a day, act on the information

provided in the Action Alert.

 

In your letters highlight all negative aspects of greyhound racing. In

particularly the inevitable decline in the tourist trade in their countries,

if greyhound racing continues. Besides the animal welfare issues, greyhound

racing is the least profitable venture as proven in countries such as the

USA, where the industry is in decline. If they wish to allow gambling in

their country then lotteries and casinos are by far more profitable ventures.

Background:

Greyhound racing is responsible for the suffering and the deaths of countless

numbers of greyhounds around the world. In an attempt to rescue an industry

in decline private corporations & the greyhound racing industry have joined

forces to expand greyhound racing in Asia, with the dogs being exported from

Australia. To countries such as Vietnam, Macau, China and more recently Korea

with their next targets being Cambodia & the Philippines. There is no

opportunity or hope to rehome the dogs that have become surplus to

requirements in Asia, therefore they are being slaughtered in barbaric dog

meat industry.

The Peoples Committee have granted the corporation responsible for greyhound

racing in Vietnam, a 30 year license for the development of greyhound racing

in Cambodia. Please ask them to withdraw it. They are under the misconception

that it will be a tourist attraction.
