Council: Give us your horses

IPOH: Horse owners who do not want to keep the animals can give them to the Ipoh

City Council.

The state government is looking for horses to expand the council’s horse unit

provided that the animals are still fit.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali said that owners who wanted to get

rid of the horses could give them away for a good cause.

He said the horses would also be used in polo matches at the Ipoh Padang on

weekends to make the city livelier at night.

“It can provide entertainment on Saturday evenings. Hawkers can also sell

snacks to visitors during the time.

“We hope to have a horse unit to patrol recreational parks such as the D.R.

Seenivasagam Park.

“We hope to have horse carriages to provide rides for the people. It is mainly

to provide a unique type of entertainment compared with other places,” he said

after the state exco meeting here last week.
