Schoolboy bitten to death by stray dogs

 

 

KOTA KINABALU: A seven year-old primary school student was bitten to death by

dozens of stray dogs near a dumpsite at Kampung Selamat in the Sabah east coast

town of Semporna.

 

The boy, identified as Mohd Nasran Nasir, a local Bajau, suffered multiple dog

bites on his face, legs and hands, Semporna district police chief Deputy Supt

Ariffin Ibrahim said yesterday.

 

His body was found by his father at about 10pm on Monday while he was returning

to their Kampung Selamat home.

 

Ariffin said a post-mortem conducted by Semporna district hospital found the

boy had died of “numerous” dog bites on his body.

 

Police, together with the Semporna district officials, immediately launched a

massive operation yesterdayto shoot or catch stray dogs in the area.
