MB wants report on Camerons condo project

 

 

KUANTAN: The state government has instructed the Cameron Highlands District

Council to submit a report on a condominium project in Tanah Rata.

 

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob said the project was among those ordered

to be put on hold until clearance was given by the authorities.

 

“I believe it must have adhered to the regulations set by the Science,

Technology and Environment Ministry or it would not have been able to proceed.

 

“However, I will still ask for a detailed report on the project from the

Cameron Highlands District Council president,” he told reporters here yesterday.

 

Adnan was commenting on a report highlighting the residents & #8217; concern

about the project, which they said would threaten their quality of life and the

highlands & #8217; eco-system.

 

Five apartment projects have been allowed to proceed by the Cabinet after the

developers amended their building plans to avoid construction on Class IV

slopes, which are those with a gradient of 35 degrees and more.
