Hi Ya Ya,

You asked about the location of dog fur manufacturers in China. From my

research on the web I was unable to come up with very little. However, I did

find one web page of a Chinese manufacturer boasting their dog fur and skin

products (see attachment " One of the largest sports balls... " ). The second

attachment from a 1999 HSUS press release also gives details of the biggest

manufacturer of dog fur products in China. The HSUS mentions that the fur is

mostly made into figurines yet, I did came across another site that claimed

that most dog fur in China was made into rugs due to it's coarseness so,

that may be another avenue worth pursuing. Sorry that I had to use

attachments but for some reason my computer would not let me paste. Anyway,

hope this helps at least a bit.

Kind Regards,

Helena

These are the same figurines that have infiltrated the USA over the past few

years...they are " cute " figurines of cats and dogs, made from real fur,

which, when approached, the vendors say is " rabbit. " It is obvious by the

coarseness of the fur used on the dog figurines that they are made from dog

fur, and the cats often have orange tabby fur, which I've yet to see on a

rabbit. I've seen these for sale in homey

Martha Stewart type country store catalogs, on the boardwalk (Venice Beach

for instance), drug stores in Hollywood, basically ALL OVER THE PLACE. " Made

in China. "
