Guest guest Posted July 16, 2002 Report Share Posted July 16, 2002 DIARY DATES FOR THE NARANGBA NUCLEAR IRRADIATION PLANT CAMPAIGN INVITATION - COME TO THE NARANGBA CAMP Staying at the Narangba nuclear irradiation plant protest camp is a great opportunity to experience sleeping under the stars, surrounded by beautiful bushland … in an industrial estate!!!! The camp has maintained a strong presence since work first began on the 13th June! The camp is not only raising immense awareness about the issue it is also creating community! However, the camp needs your help …… we need more people prepared to stay at the camp overnight … if you are interested in putting your name on the roster this can be done by return email or contact the camp on 0421 990 703, or Anna on 3876 2267 or Robin on 0411 118 737. There are some tents available and a kitchen with a fridge, gas stove, a campfire, a pit toilet and great company. Bring your sleeping gear, warm clothes, food if you can and musical instruments, good energy, etc. To be picked up at the Narangba train station contact Fran or Frank Jell on 0403 573 038. 1. PICKET ‘STATHAM’ – STERITECH’S CONSTRUCTION COMPANY 12pm Thursday 18th July, 16 Trinity Lane,Woolloongabba A picket has been called for the offices of the construction company working on the Narangba Nuclear Irradiation facility. It seems as though the construction company, Statham, are unaware or unconcerned by of the risks involved in bringing nuclear industry to our region and have not considered the hazards that food irradiation creates for our communities and our food supply. Gather outside Statham's office in Woolloongabba to voice your protest at their working on the project and demand that they refuse to build the plant.
