I am glad you have responded.I should have written this letter earlier. .As

I spoke to the vice President of Kacpaw Dr Godamunne and many others

disagreed to have Dr harischandra Director of Pubic Health Veterinary

Services as a speaker or a person to conductthe workshop.Dr Godamunne

doesn`t like the method of sterilizing and eliminating dogs.We also don't

like that

There were many problems in Kacpaw and some members have left the

Association after arguments with the secretary Champa.They have informed

that Champa has constructed the cages in the wrong way and as a result there

was an out break of parvo and distemper and many animals have died it

seems.Is that the way you control animal populationand helping animals of

Sri lanka?That person and another person in Kacpaw is getting all the

benifits it seems foreign trips etc etc.

You are in England and you don`t know what is happening in Sri Lanka. Of

course I love my country and animals and I am a known person in Sri Lanka

..I sent a request to Minister of justice to introduce humane method of birth

control instead of killing dogs.I am the person who wrote to the Prime

minister and other ministers regarding that.I requested other animal

organisations and people and they helped me

so .You say I work against animals .You are a frog in the well .Now I

understand there are people who destroy organisations by working inside that

organisation. I must correct my self it's Champa of Kacpaw and Trevor

Wheeler of Wspa is helping animal abusers.I saw people have written letters

to Animal people about your organisation .So there is something wrong with

your organisation.

Long time ago Animal Welfare and Protection organisation of Dehiwela

started programmes to do free sterilizations.We had two programmes in Kotte

municipal area in 1998.Kotte people seems to prefer contraceptive

injections .There were such programmes conducted by my batchmates in North

Western Province also,Animal Welfare and Protection organisation and other

groups also conduct regular sterilization programmes in Sri lanka.So Mr

Wheeler please don't say that you have started the good work.Dr Harischandra Public health veterinary services

was the person who was killing animals Island wide .We can control our

animals in humane way without Dr harischandra ,

Members od Animal welfare Association of Dehiwela Mrs jayathillake Mrs

Suranganee and others told me that they will not attend the wspa conference

because Dr Harischandra is doing the workshop.

Mr wheeler where did we try to work together don`t fabricate stories?.There

were few occassions I sent e.mail when Dr Harischadra was killing our dogs

..Then you never helped us but asked me to wait for the Wspa conference.I

asked Champa of Kacpaw to write a letter but she said she was too busy.I

didn`t wait I wrote to many people and I got help .This is one such

letter.People of Sri Lanka know who am I .I regret wspa and Kacpaw will lose

their reputation because of people like you.

English people have destroyed fauna and flora and culture also.Now some

English men are trying to destroy our animals also .I regret buying the

useless collars to help the Kacpaw.Champa has shown her ungreatfulness .She

has betrayed all the good animal lovers and animals of the country.

If I were you I would start some other line of business .Business like

writing fiction stories.i am sending this letter from Richard Jones for the

second time so Mr Wheeler please read this again.Please read the chapter dog

catching van from my book From zoo to your Garden.Turn to the page 181.I

have mentioned about wspa and written the adress and your e.mail adress.I

regret I couldn`t find the e.mail adress of Karen who is a very nice person

at that time.I spent about 100000 Sri lankan rupees from my own money

topublish that .And how dare you say that I work against animal welfare

organisations.I am so happy that i publish the adress of Peta .

Somebody has bought you to sling mud at me ,I know that person.You are an

ungreatful person who has betrayed all the animals and animal lovers and wspa.

Dear Dr Brundtland,

 

I wish to draw your attention to the inhumane treatment of animals in Sri

Lanka.

 

The Medical Research Institute urgently requires facilities to tackle the

problem of rabies. I believe earlier government vets previously gave

multi-dose rabies injections to vaccinate dogs in rabid areas, however now

the Director of the Public Health Veterinary Services has stopped this

practice.

 

Public Health Inspectors are charging prices beyond the reach of most

ordinary citizens to vaccinate their dogs. This is in contrast to other

areas of Sri Lanka, where anti-rabies injections are given free. It appears

that the anti-rabies campaign is not being undertaken properly in Sri Lanka,

and as a result most dogs are not getting immunised against rabies.

 

In addition, I hope that you will urge Sri Lanka to follow the example of

India and abolish the killing of dogs in order to reduce the population

using gas and poison injections. It is possible, and indeed more humane, to

use contraceptive injections and surgery to reduce the numbers.

 

Please look into this as a matter of urgency for the safety of the people

and animals in Sri Lanka.
