Forward: I have communicated with Geneethics for about 7 years now and their

campaign is a necessary and effective one. Scientists wanting to put meat

genes into veges

and mix different species' DNA up in the most revolting ways are getting

funding and

consumers need to be helped and educated to choose GE free food and to

avoid GE products. Our food evolved naturally over millions of years and

scientists of our generation could undo all nature's good work with unknown

future effects on humans and the animals. Some of the Geneethics campaign

has

resulted in some companies changing their policies on some products

and sourcing their ingredients from NON-GE sources.

The GeneEthics Network leads the campaign in Australia for a Genetic

Engineering (GE) free future. Since 1988, GeneEthics has worked to keep GE

out of the food supply and off farms. Thank you to all those people whose

loyal generosity and hard work made it possible.

 

Now the campaign is harder, with industry pushing its commercial GE crop

and food products. GeneEthics URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT as we rely

entirely on generous donations from caring people like you. In contrast,

agribusiness and government are cashed up with profits from chemicals and

GE.

 

Thanks to GeneEthics' education, media and lobbying work, public awareness

and debate over GE is at an all time high. Your donation will help

translate community awareness into effective resistance to GE products.

Public health, the environment and security for farmers are our top

priorities. This year we will work with you to:

 

*stop any release of herbicide tolerant GE canola, by Monsanto and Aventis;

*give away half a million True Food Guides on GE-free shopping (order

yours now);

*win public support for GE-free food processors and retailers;

*help schools, hospitals, councils and meals on wheels to get GE-free

food services;

*spread the GE Freeze Campaign from Tasmania and WA to the whole of

Australia.
