Police received an alert on the morning of May 9 after a passerby found two cats brutally killed in the streets of Tachikawa. One of them was beheaded, Tachikawa police said. About one month later, a rabbit was found dead with stab wounds in the eyes and stomach in the rabbit hutch of a local kindergarten. Tachikawa police suspect someone fatally stabbed the pet with the tip of an umbrella. " We can't allow the killing of our kids' pets, " the kindergarten's director was quoted as saying. Another cat and rabbit have been found killed in Tachikawa. The Tachikawa City Hall issued a warning to the residents in the city against animal killers.
