Captive Tigers in Busan, South Korea

I am an expat Scot living in Busan, South Korea with my husband (and

dog!). In the centre of Busan is a hotel, The Lotte, a very large

and exclusive hotel, which has a tiger captive in a glass case in the

coffee shop. It may well be that this poor animal is OK where he is,

but it seems wrong to me that he is there, with people peering in at

him night and day. He looks healthy enough, I must admit. But he is

alone and for such a large animal he has very little space. In

fairness his compound is clean and he has shelter and water and rocks

to climb, but it's still a comparatively small area, and I just worry

about him. The same hotel has performing tigers from time to time in

their cabaret show, and I have been unable to find out where they

come from or how the animals are treated. I do know, however, that

electric cattle prods are used to make the animals perform.

I've been advised that there may be someone subscribing to this

website group who is in a position to help with this or advise me.

If so, I would be most grateful.
