Guest guest
Hi, I got this information from a reliable source. It seems a vaccine contributed to Newcastle disease outbreaks in Australia. It may be interesting to some people. (I never did get an answer from Promed) Fwd..... Dear Promed, I heard that a vaccine against Newcastle disease used in Australia had contributed to outbreaks here in the past. Is this true? (See information below I received from a reliable source). > Hi , > Re the Newcastle Disease issue, I just wondered, wasn't the vaccine > given to the chickens killed vaccine? If so how could it mutate or was > it the virus that the vaccine was based on as being safe that mutated. > Kind regards, > Marguerite > > No, it was a live vaccine strain and now is endemic in the commecial poultry industry so-called V4 progenitor strain. I can send you more details if you wish. CSIRO and NSW Dept of Agric. scientists have proven beyond their doubts that the virulent ND outbreaks were due to point mutations of this endemic-vaccine strain.
