Guest guest
Dear Friends of Animals Asia, The new " Follow the Rescue " March update is now up on the website and shows the remarkable journey to recovery of the latest 6 bears to arrive at our Rescue Centre in Chengdu. Despite their horrific injuries and emaciated condition, the bears determination to survive is winning through. http://www.animalsasia.org/beInformed/cbRescue/follow_mar02.html Unsere deutschen Freunde koennen jetzt auch die neuesten Nachrichten ueber die Ankunft weiterer 6 Baeren auf unserer Rettungstation in Chengdu in deutscher Sprache lesen. Es ist wundervoll, den Ueberlebenswillen der Baeren zu sehen. http://www.animalsasia.org/beInformed_german/cbRescue/follow_mar02.html These are the lucky ones. Many thousands are still suffering on bear farms - and in one recent tragedy we learned that a student visited Beijing Zoo and poured acid over 5 captive bears in order to test their " intelligence " . Together with the Beijing China Wildlife Conservation Association, the Animals Asia team visited the zoo and witnessed the shocking condition of these poor bears and offered our help. See the full story at: http://www.animalsasia.org/beInformed/campaigns/caeh001.html In fact, the website is chock full of updates, from our new " Friends....or Food? " programme, through to additions to our new campaign: " Project Asia " . Be sure also to take a glance at the new " In the News " page and our " Events " section. We are delighted to announce a big event for us this week: Jill is being honoured at the 16th Annual Genesis Awards for her " pioneering work to end bear farming in China " . The Genesis Awards is a high profile media event organised by the Ark Trust and will be held in Los Angeles on 16'th March. The Awards Ceremony will be filmed for broadcast on Animal Planet in May. As ever, very many thanks to all of you for your ongoing support - your help is creating a world of difference! Best wishes and bear hugs, Annie Media Director Animals Asia Foundation Hong Kong
