" Among the winners, which have already been announced, will be Dr. Dolittle 2 for Best Film, Animal Precinct for Best Reality Television Programming and MSNBC Investigates: Animal Smugglers for Best News Feature. John Hendricks, Chairmain and Chief Executive Officer of Discovery Communications, and Jill Robinson, founder of the Animals Asia Foundation, will receive special honors. Among the many celebrities participating in the ceremony, which is scheduled to be televised on Animal Planet in May, will be Ed Begley, Jr., Linda Blair, Sid Caesar, James Cromwell and Tippi Hedren. " As each Genesis Awards approaches, I wonder whether it's possible to equal the previous year in terms of the standard of work available for us to judge, " said actress Gretchen Wyler, who is the founder and president of The Ark Trust, as well as the Executive Producer of the Genesis Awards ceremony. " However, I think the media excelled itself in 2001 with intelligent and ground-breaking coverage of certain key issues - issues that will continue to warrant worldwide attention in 2002.
