Guest guest
The ongoing outcry by mainly Western activists against Korea and her dog-eating " traditions " , highlights why so many non-Western countries dislike Westerners so intensely. The reason is simply the case of the pot calling the kettle black. Pigs, for example, are highly intelligent, and many a pig has become a " pet " , while specific pig breeds are kept as " pets " in apartments and at home. Yet, these same pet owners will sit down and drool their way through a breakfast of bacon and eggs, or eat ham, or enjoy an Eisbein in Germany, or wear pigskin gloves or jackets. Then there are those cute bunny rabbits ending up as rabbit pie, or the French with their pâte de foie gras, or the Queen with her pigeon dinners .... These double-standards condemn the West for bigotry and dubious moral values. The day any country stops eating flesh of any description, is the day that country can suggest (not demand) that others do likewise. Perhaps we should consider boycotting our popular soccer players and their matches because they too guzzle meat, while using leather soccer boots and balls. But soccer is a national religion for many nations, and so, it is okay, isn't it, to condone it. As activists, people should apply as much pressure on FIFA and the soccer lot to stop the game altogether until such time as they (at least) stop their contribution to animal cruelty. In short, for animal activists to be seen to be fair, everyone connected to the current soccer anti-dog eating outcry, should consider protest action against the guys who'll make it happen - the soccer teams.
