.....most important of all, is that it would create a precedent for other

countries in Asia. Particularly worrying when countries such as Hong Kong,

Taiwan and the Philippines have already banned the practice....and

considering that major dog eating countries such as China and Vietnam have

no animal welfare legislation whatsoever to protect any species from cruelty

and abuse.

 

The Hong Kong Government Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department

has gone out publicly with the statement that, in their view, you cannot

raise and slaughter dogs humanely for food.
