Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Manop Ronthee, 28, while he was driving a pick-up truck out of the Northern Bus Terminal on Kamphaeng Phet road. Four sacks containing a total of 240kg of dog meat were allegedly found in the truck. Police said Manop claimed he had been hired by a Sakon Nakhon trader to deliver the meat to customers at Bang Khae market in Thon Buri. He had done this for about a year, receiving 300 baht a trip. Manop said sex organs of male dogs were also demanded by Chinese restaurants in Yaowarat. A kilogramme of the sex organs cost 300-400 baht as it was believed to be an aphrodisiac, he said.
