Having seen the seriousness of the acts, which

occurred on the premises of the society for the

protection of animals of Tarragona (municipal

territory of Reus) on the night of Friday, November 2,

the Altarriba Charity offer the sum of 100.000 (one

hundred thousand) pesetas as a reward to anyone, who

provides information that leads to the arrest and

handing over to the authorities of the persons behind

the ferocious attack which, after mutilation, led to

the death of 15 defenseless animals.

IN THE MEMORY OF THE DOGS OF THE TARRAGONA SHELTER

DESPICABLY TORTURED SOLIDARITY GATHERING AT THE SITE

WHERE THE ACTS TOOK PLACE IN THE FURTHERANCE OF FAIR

AND EFFECTIVE LAWS FOR THE PROTECTION OF ANIMALS

The Charity " Fundación Altarriba, Amigos de los

Animales " is preparing a symbolic act of homage for

the 15 unfortunate and innocent dogs despicably killed

by some heartless individuals on the night between

November 2 and 3, in the premises of the Society for

the protection of animals of Tarragona ( " Protectora de

Animales de Tarragona " ). The said premises, which are

in a precarious condition, are located within the

territory of the Council of Reus.

 

All persons of good faith, all protectionists and all

Societies for the protection of animals both in Spain

and abroad are invited to participate.

 

The ceremony, of a unitary character, will be held

next Sunday, December 2 at 1pm at the very same spot,

near the tree where the animals were submitted to a

despicable and abominable execution.

 

Only three placards duly prepared by the organization

will be admitted at the ceremony. One will be

dedicated to the memory of the brutally killed dogs;

another one will urge the Administration to pass

effective and fair laws for the protection of animals.

The last one will consist of a(-n own) placard by the

same Protection Society of Tarragona. These placards

will be drafted in Spanish, Catalan, Galician and

Basque and will contain neither names nor references

of any of the participating Societies nor, of course,

that of the Altarriba Charity.

 

Placards exhibiting the sole name of the city of

origin will be allowed as well as posters representing

those absent cities which, nonetheless, wish to

participate to the homage.

 

During the celebration four children will read a brief

note in the mentioned four languages.

 

The mass-media will be summoned. They will be given a

communication in which the facts will be mentioned as

well as the list of the Societies that have taken part

in the act.

 

From Barcelona, the Altarriba Charity will endeavor to

organize a cost-price bus service for the journey to

the site for those people who do not wish to use their

own transport
