Guest guest
Dear all Just a short email to update you on some recent ACAP activities. We have been working on building a portfolio of Western artists to support the campaign in a number of ways. Firstly, having secured some airtime with Discovery Networks Europe (provisionally UK feed, but with potential view to Europe feed), we began writing to artists to enlist their support. Two popular UK TV wildlife presenters, namely Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham have recorded messages on avoiding exotic wildlife souvenirs, Charlotte Uhlenbroek, presenter for a popular BBC programme on primates has agreed to record a message on Bush Meat, but no date for filming has been confirmed and Ralph Fiennes has also expressed his interest to record a conservation message, and I will be in touch with his agent upon Ralph's return to the UK in October to fix up a date. Most recently however, following a joint letter with the Metropolitan Police's Wildlife Crime Unit, we won the support of Minnie Driver, who has recorded 2 public service announcements for the ACAP campaign. A 60sec message on the shahtoosh trade and a 30sec message on tigers. Copies of these messages are not yet available, but should be by Mid October. These messages will also air on our long supporting partner, Discovery Networks Asia. Details to follow. A big thank you to all those who continue to support the work of ACAP and make our work possible. If you have any questions re. any of the above, or other activities, please let me know. To be removed from this mailing list, please return this email with '''' in the subject heading. With thanks and best wishes, Claire Martin Programme Coordinator Asian Conservation Awareness Programme - a programme of WildAid 5 St Peters Street London N1 8JD United Kingdom tel: 020 7359 3543 fax: 020 7359 7123 web: http://www.acapworldwide.com
