The effort, which involved 600 law enforcement staff, aimed to halt sales of wild animals. A large number of animals, such as frogs and snakes, were seized from some restaurants and farm produce markets. One truck carrying as many as 1.5 tons of live frogs was detained by police in Ningbo, a source said. But such raids aren't the problem's cure, officials said. Better education would help more, they noted.
