URGENT, STOP JAPAN WHALING. (PART 1 )

 

 

Dear Caring friends,

 

Japan just killed 440 whales in the Sanctuary are and just returned

on April 6, 2001. Now, in just a few days, Japan is going out again

on May 11, 2001, to kill more and bigger whales again !

Let's take a look at the Japanese killing schedule :

 

As you can see, time after time it proves that the IWC

(International Whaling Commission) has lost its function to control

and restrain the killing whales countries. This is a wanton world of

killing the unlimited number of giant, sentient whales.

 

There are some intelligent insiders suggested that if the USA

does not impose the sanctions soon against Japan, then the only approach

to save the whales is to " catch " the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture,

Forestry and Fisheries. Because they said he is the person to give the

permission to Japanese whalers to kill unlimited number of whales and

he is the one to support Japanese Whalers with all of the modern killing

equipment of whaling fleet to kill ! He is the one pushing the RMS

behind to pave the road to the world commercial whaling again.

Well, it sounds a good idea . But who has the guts to execute such

great mission to save the whales ?

 

Now, we must write again to the United States Congress, the

President Bush , the EPA Administrator, the US Department

of Commerce. We also want to ask you to write to IWC, and

several member nations who promotes killing of whales.

Many people suspect some of them are corrupted with the

Japanese whalers .

 

We will divide this campaign into a couple of emails.

We provide the KEY POINTS and all of the Contact information

followed for your convenience as much as we can.

The KEY POINTS in the letter :

 

 

1: Please impose TRADE SANCTIONS against Japan and

Norway killing of thousands of whales each year.

 

In just about one month, the IWC will meet in London (July 2001).

On the table are a series of proposals to re-introduce legal, sanctioned

commercial whaling. If those proposals adopted, it would condone

Japan and Norway's existing commercial whaling and also allow other

countries to start.

 

Japan just killed 440 whales in the Southern ocean Sanctuary

and just returned on April 6, 2001. Now, in just a few days, with busy

killing schedule , Japan is going out again on May 11, 2001, to kill

more and bigger whales again !

 

Each year, thousands of whales worldwide were killed in the hands

of Japan, Norway, Denmark, .... with the IWC loophole for excuses

of " scientific research " . All whale meat were ended up in the

commercial meat market and high priced Japanese restaurants.

2: JAPANESE KILLING WHALES AND DOLPHINS :

 

Japan went out again on May 11, 2001 to Northern Pacific to

kill more and bigger whales(including endangered Byrde and Sperm

Whales) despite the international repeated protest and warning !

They will kill 160 whales up to July including killing 50 of the

Bryde's whales, and 10 endangered sperm whales. (see Reference # 2 )

 

From mid Nov. 2000 to April 6, 2001, Japan just killed 440 whales

in Southern Ocean " Sanctuary Area " in addition to 43 Bryde's, 40

minke, and five sperm whales, which it took in the first leg of this

season's hunt (August and September 2000) - making for a total

of seasonal hunt take of nearly 700 whales. This is the first whaling

season in which the Japanese government has included the

endangered Bryde's and sperm whales.

 

Japan is also the world biggest killer on Dolphins.

Each year from Oct. to end of April is Japanese killing dolphin season

..

Japan is steadily hunting its coastal cetacean populations to extinction.

By 1995, a single species -- Dall's porpoise -- was being taken at a rate

of 17,000 per year. Hundreds of boats are licensed to kill, and they

have severely depleted, in sequence, populations of striped dolphins,

pilot whales, beaked whales, and Dall's porpoise.

3: NORWEGIAN WHALING ACTIVITY :

 

Norway, too, will begin a whale hunt in May, 2001. They aim to

kill 549 minke whales in the North Atlantic, in a season that will run

from mid May to the end of August. And now Norway is trying to

catch more whales. In January 2001 Norway announced a lifting on

the export ban on whale products.

 

 

4: In the past, the Clinton/Gore tolerance on the Japanese killing the

whales has led to Japan's increasingly large scale of killing whales in

the bigger and bigger size in the open sea. Japan even kill large

number of whales in the " SANCTUARY Area " without any concerns.

Japan even uses its financial bait to get those tiny Caribbean nations

to vote for killing and against whale sanctuary in the last 52nd IWC

meeting in Australia. Clinton/Gore " tolerance " , empty gesture of

threat of Trade sanction and high level official contacts proved a

complete failure. Japan is killing more and bigger now !

 

5: Here, it is important to point out that former Vice President Al

Gore called himself as an " environmentalist " . However, he " brokered "

the 1993 of $261 million worth of missiles to Norway. Since then,

Gore had giving OK for countries to kill whales everywhere, especially

Norway ! He also gave OK to Makah Whaling, Inuit tribal bands killing

highly endangered Bowhead whales, Alaska killing beluga whales which

made Beluga number fell from 1000 to 150. Gore is also the master

designer behind the RMS. (The Revised Management Scheme.) , a plan

to openly resume the Commercial whaling . It will be soon discussed

in July , 2001 IWC meeting.

 

6: After a 15 year moratorium, commercial whaling could resume under

a scheme called " RMS " . IWC (International Whaling Commission) has

lost its control on member countries killing whales uncontrollably.

IWC is an empty shell and it does not have high sea policing power.

Japan uses financial bait to buy more votes from small island countries

and manipulate the IWC voting results.

 

7: According to many whale experts, the " TRADE SANCTION " is

the most decisive, effective and most peaceful way to stop

Japanese and Norway to kill thousands of whales each year

and to halt world commercial whaling .

 

8: The United States has been so weak against Japan's killing on whales

under Gore's influences. Now, the US must be the leader to take the

decisive action against Japanese and Norwegian killing on whales before

it is too late or the open and even larger scale of commercial whaling

coming soon under the disguise of RMS.

Thousands of giant , peaceful whales will suffer excruciating pain to

slow death in the sea when the explosive shoot into her head and stomach.

 

9: Therefore, I am strongly requesting the US government to impose the

Trade Sanctions against Japan and Norway, urgently. Thank you.
