Please send a similar letter to the Animal Planet

channel. Oddly enough they're running HRT ads for

Wyeth-Ayerst, the company that produces Premarin. If

you're not aware of how Premarin is produced, the

sample letter below will explain.

Please stop promoting Premarin

 

To whom it may concern,

 

Several ads ran on Animal Planet featuring Lauren

Hutton for Hormone Replacement Therapy drugs for

Wyeth-Ayerst. Wyeth-Ayerst produces Premarin which is

a drug that utilizes abuse of horses - the mares that

are kept on urine collection lines standing in small

stalls for months at a time, kept pregnant, and the

by-product foals sold to feedlots in Canada for the

horsemeat market in Europe.

 

Premarin is Pregnant Mare's Urine: Pre-Mar-In. There

are many plant-based alternative HRT drugs on the

market that are cruelty-free and healthier for women.

 

I hope Animal Planet will no longer accept advertising

dollars from such a company, it is a contradiction of

what your programming stands for and I will admit I

was pretty surprised to see Wyeth-Ayerst advertising

there.
