Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (SHAC) said it planned to stage protests at Yamanouchi facilities in Surrey and Oxford because of the Japanese firm's ties with Huntingdon Life Sciences, Britain's oldest drug-testing company. " All customers of Huntingdon Life Sciences are targets as far as we're concerned, " a SHAC spokesman said. SHAC has conducted a vicious campaign against Huntingdon Life Sciences, accusing it of cruelty to animals used in testing drugs. Its crusade has broken the drug-testing company, sending its share price on the London Stock Exchange plummeting by 90 percent over the past year. Activists have been slammed, however, for the violence of the campaign, which saw a Huntingdon Life Sciences manager viciously bashed in February.
