Please write to Perth City Council about Arna and the other circus animals

Stardust Circus features monkeys, lions and Arna the elephant.

 

Stardust Circus is now performing in Perth, Western Australia.

 

According to Animal Libertation New South Wales, Australia, Arna has been

on her own

since mid-1996 when her companion Bambi died.

 

However NSW law states that elephants cannot be kept on their own.

 

Previous calls on the NSW Government to enforce the law have fallen on deaf

ears

and Animal Liberation NSW have been forced to take the NSW and Stardust

Circus to court.

Arna has now been hauled across the Australian continent to perform in

Perth,

Western Australia.

 

On Sunday a Perth animal rights activist Astrid Herlihy stated she had seen

Arna standing

depressed and dirty with no water.

 

Astrid said Arna looked very depressed and was aimlessly pawing the ground.

 

Circus people stated because Arna tipped her water over she was given water

from the hose

every two hours and did not have free access to water.

 

A Stardust Circus employee tried to stop Astrid taking photos of Arna twice.

 

Please write to Perth City Council and tell them to ban circuses using

animals

from performing in Perth.

 

Perth City Council have also been culling pigeons. You may like to write

about this issue as well.
