Guest guest
The Queensland Duck and Quail Management Advisory Committee has recommended that a duck and quail shooting season be declared again this year. The committeee is overloaded with duck shooters. It is our understanding that the representative from Birds Australia also supported a duck shoot season, which is something that members of Birds Aust. may wish to take up with their executive. The previous Minister Rod Welford was not going to allow another season. New Minister Dean Wells may be influenced by elements within QPWS who support duck shooting. We now have an email address for the Minister which may work. We have sent a letter, but please send him an email or fax requesting that he listen to the community, and not approve a shooting season ever again. His fax number is 0732296920, email; <MurrumbaMurrumbaThe person who wanted to keep the red kangaroo Mitchell as a pet, has been refused a permit. He is now threatening to appeal that decision in a Court of Law. Mitchell is in a soft release program and doing fine. He will be released on a very large property backing onto State Forest. The WPAA AGM is on this Saturday 31st, at Australia Zoo, Beerwah.
