Guest guest
Hi All, I hope that many people who still eat meat will consider becoming vegetarian because of the mad cow disease scare. This would be great for the animals and our planet. Has anyone noticed the wide spread of this disease across Europe? Also, scrapie, a similar disease to Mad Cow Disease is still around and many Elk are being slaughtered in Canada due to Chronic Wasting Disease which is said to be similar to scrapie. I don't pretend to understand the big picture but I know the blood bank here is now disallowing donations from people who were in the UK during certain years. Also, during the last Mad Cow Disease scare here, shelves were cleared of all kinds of products containing gelatine. Perhaps the best way to avoid CJD (Mad cow disease in humans) is to avoid all meat in my opinion (I;m sure even chickens are probably fed dead animal in their food) and to avoid dairy products and gelatine. It is amazing how many products contain gelatine so it is always worth reading labels. I hope every one on the list has a happy Christmas and New Year. Kind regards, Marguerite
