Tanzanian baboon exports vs goat rape sentence

Dear Friends,

 

The following letter was sent to all Tanzanian embassies yesterday in an effort

to get some much-needed focus on their baboon exports. Please consider sending

it too so that we can get them to stop their baboon and other exports

period. The

Tanzanians, like some other African countries, usually display bad manners by

ignoring any and all letters - but please consider sending yours anyway.

Dear Sir or Madam,

A report in the Sowetan, the South African newspaper, stated yesterday that

a court in Tanzania sentenced Chalo Kasule (30) to 30 years in prison for

having sexual intercourse with a goat. Magistrate Mustafa Mkiwa was

reported by the local Dar es Salaam newspaper Uhuru to have said " The

accused deserves a stiff penalty for such a shameful act " . Kasule, who was

caught in the act with the goat on June 16, pleaded for leniency.

 

I wish to express my appreciation for your Tanzanian compassion for the

goat, and ask you whether you have now investigated the reports sent to you

about your baboon exports for medical experimentation and other purposes,

with a view to extending your compassion for

domestic animals to these poor creatures too.
