Guest guest
Aerial culling no longer used to control wild horses http://www.abc.net.au/news/science/nature/2000/11/item20001110082614_1.htm The head of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Brian Gillian, says aerial culling methods will no longer be used to limit wild horse numbers in New South Wales national parks. It follows criticism of the shooting two weeks ago of more than 600 brumbies in the Guy Fawkes National Park on the New South Wales mid-north coast. Mr Gilligan says the service has been given a clear message by the public. " We have two independent inquiries underway at this stage, " Mr Gilligan said. " We'll await the findings of those two inquiries, but very clearly, we've received a strong message from the community. " There'll be no more aerial culling of horses in Guy Fawkes or any other National Parks. "
