Homemade Ketchup (Laurel)*

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 12 ounces ca tomato paste

1/2 cup cider vinegar

1/2 cup water

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon oregano

1/8 teaspoon cumin

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

garlic -- see note

 

Makes 1-3/4 cups. Mix all ingredients together. Store in a jar in the

refrigerator.

 

CAUTION: The recipe calls for a " squeeze of garlic from press " but doesn't warn

about potential contamination from raw garlic. Use a commercially prepared

pressed garlic or granulated.
