Guest guest
I have an old copy of this cookbook, which I picked up at a used bookstore and started to look at it yesterday because it is the cookbook-of-the week. It was published in 1986 so seems a tad out of date. Or is it? I'm real curious to hear from those who use it. I read many of the comments about the book at amazon.com and discovered that folks either love it or hated it. Someone there commented that no one has time to make the recipes unless they are a stay-at-home homemaker. In reading the introductory pages to this book (librarians tend to read this kind of thing) I was surprised to read a negative comment about Moosewood and Katzen. Ahhhh, a tad nasty are we? Was/is there some competition between the authors of these cookbooks, or were they the only vegetarian cookbooks around at that time. There are some very basic recipes here, such as how to make soy milk. It might take me all week to read the introduction, which has a lot of nutritional info in it which must be out of date. Are the recipes in Laurel's Kitchen Recipes the same, or is that a different cookbook? I'd love to hear comments, and get recipes. What's the scoop?
