It was posted on the IVU website. http://www.ivu.org/recipes/net/northam.html <http://www.ivu.org/recipes/net/northam.html> MMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master v8.06 Title: Tourtiere Categories: Vegetarian, Pies Yield: 8 Servings 2 c TVP 1 1/2 c Vegetable stock 3 tb Margarine 2 c Each chopped onions and Mushrooms 2 c Fine soft bread crumbs 1 t Pepper 1/2 ts Each salt, thyme and savory 1/4 ts Ginger 3/4 c Beer or stock 2 Pastry for two 10 icnh pies soak the tvp in the veggie stock. in a large frying pan melt the margarine and saute the onions and mushrooms. cook over medium heat until consistency of a course puree. stir in the bread crumbs. add the tvp to the frying pan and stir well to distribute. add seasonings and cook about 5 minutes more. adjust seasonings to taste. add the beer (alcohol will burn off). cook until the liquid has evaporated but the mixture is still moist. cool completely. spoon into pastry lined pie plates. cover with crust, seal, crimp and vent. bake at 450 F for 15 minutes then at 375 for 30-40 minutes. you can serve this recipe with chutney or A1 or HP sauce.
