Blueberry or Blackberry Pie

 

3 cups fresh berries, washed,drained and dry

3/4 cup sugar - maybe a little more to taste

1 tbsp cornstarch

1/8 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter or margarine

1 tbsp milk

1 tbsp sugar

1 package 9 inch pie shell (2 in pack)

 

Remove one pie shell from package.

Place on waxed paper, let thaw 10-20 minutes until flat.

Combine sugar cornstarch and salt.

Place berries in 2nd pie shell.

Sprinkle sugar mixture over berries.

Dot with butter.

Put other shell over the top.

 

Seal and flute edges.

Make several slits in top of crust.

Brush top with milk and sprinkle sugar over the top.

Bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes.
