Guest guest Posted January 21, 2003 Report Share Posted January 21, 2003 Tip of the Day: Tomatoes that are picked or purchased before they are ripe can be made ready for use in your kitchen. Contrary to many popular beliefs, sunlight does not ripen a picked tomato (it will cause it to firm up, not truly ripen). Gentle heat will cause the tomato to ripen.
