Guest guest Posted November 1, 2002 Report Share Posted November 1, 2002 Blue Cheese-Walnut Dip Prep Time: 15 minutes Ingredients 1/2 pound Maytag or Danish blue cheese 1/2 cup unsalted butter (no substitutes), softened 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts Finely chopped walnuts (optional) Assorted sliced fresh fruit (such as pear and apples) Sliced French bread Directions: 1. Combine cheese and butter in food processor. Process mixture, scraping down sides of bowl with a rubber spatula, until smooth. Stir in 1/2 cup walnuts. 2. Transfer dip to a small platter or serving bowl; sprinkle top with additional walnuts, if desired. Serve with fruit and bread. Makes 1-3/4 cups (twenty-eight 1-tablespoon servings). Make-Ahead Tip: Dip can be made up to 24 hours ahead. Transfer to airtight container. Cover and refrigerate. Let stand at room temperature 1 hour to soften.
