Guest guest Posted April 2, 2002 Report Share Posted April 2, 2002 Bread and Butter Pudding Ingredients: ¾ pt milk 1 oz sugar 1 egg ½ oz dried fruit 3 or 4 small thin slices of bread, buttered Nutmeg Preparation: Beat the egg with the sugar, and add the milk which has been heated. Place half of the bread in a buttered pie dish, sprinkle the fruit over it and cover with the rest of the bread. Strain the egg and milk mixture over the bread, and grate a little nutmeg on top. Allow to soak for 30 minutes before cooking. Steam gently for 45 minutes, or bake in a moderate oven Language is an expression of thought.
