Guest guest
Just read the conclusion and implication and its very weak BTW Had to edit the link to make it work - try cutting and pasting each line here into your browser wbln0018.worldbank.org/ rdv/animal.nsf/ cf1fdf1015cc3633852566ce007a6a9f/ d9bbda4eb7218003852566f800561167? Guest guest
Interesting link but pretty limited in range of study. Seems to agree that prostrate cancer is linked to high dietary fats but minimises dairy link. It's generally well known that Chinese breast cancer rates are really low. Thought by many to be due to high soy and no milk diets. Prostrate cancer rates are even more amazing. Rural Chinese 0.5 per 100,000, Urban Chinese 2, Hong Kong 8, Nagasaki 9, Hiroshima 11, England and Wales 28, USA white 101,USA black 137 per 100,000. (Cancer Incidence in Five Continents, 1997,vol V11, published by IARC, part of WHO) (Posted this elsewhere and was argued with that consumption of green tea was responsible. Agree it's part of the mix as is low pollution and other factors.) Milk is very strongly implicated in breast cancers. It contains oestrogens plus IGF's (insulin like growth factors) which signal cells to multiply. Human and cow IGF's are identical. Good for calves who grow at enormeous rates, not so good for people. Will find some links or finally get round to writing my own pages on it. Meanwhile have a look at PETA site on milk http://www.milksucks.com/more.html Rosanne EBbrewpunx@c... wrote: > one heck of a link! > > http://wbln0018.worldbank.org/rdv/animal.nsf/527 b4f05f898d1bc852566c100747d25/0468ea3a4d7578b88525 66cd00571074?OpenDocument
Guest guest
Good news lads. Just been re reading Jane Plant Your Life in Your Hands re IGF in milk. Recent research by Cancer Epedemiology Dept at Oxford Uni showed vegan men have IGF levels 9% lower than meat eaters and vegetarians. 1998 study showed men who developed prostrate cancer had 8% higher IGF level than men who remained healthy. Must be a good connection there. Bit on it at http://www.pcrm.org/health/Preventive_Medicine/prostate_cancer.html Rosanne > > EBbrewpunx@c... wrote: > > one heck of a link! > > > > http://wbln0018.worldbank.org/rdv/animal.nsf/527 > b4f05f898d1bc852566c100747d25/0468ea3a4d7578b88525 > 66cd00571074?OpenDocument
