Guest guest
------ Forwarded Message Jerry Friedman <jfriedman Tue, 11 Jun 2002 11:31:21 -0700 Dear Vegans, Vegetarians, and Advocacy Groups: The class action settlement against McDonald¹s for its deceptive use of beef flavoring in its french fries and hash browns has not yet been formalized. If you ate McDonald¹s french fries or hash browns in the U.S. since July 23, 1990, you have a ³vote² whether to approve or disapprove of the settlement. Your deadline to do so is July 8, 2002. I have set up a web site to explain your options: www.frenchfry.org -- please help publicize it for the greatest democratic effect on the settlement. It is designed to help you object or opt-out of the settlement if you think it's unfair. Presently, McDonald¹s has offered to pay $10 million to vegetarian, Hindu and Kosher groups, about $3 million to a few lawyers, and will set up a puppet ³diet advisory panel² of its own assigns for three years with no power to do anything. With an estimated 23 million plaintiffs, McDonald¹s pays about 43 cents worth for everyone who ate the contaminated food regardless of how many times you ate it, and the lawyers get millions. You can help stop this injustice by going to www.frenchfry.org. Please distribute this e-mail promptly. The deadline is July 8! Very best, Jerry Friedman, Activist @ Large jerry
