Sheep and protests

The thing I would say about wool is not only the arguement that some

sheep will die during the shearing process from shock/loss of blood -

clumsy shearer etc but for me veganism is a lot about distancing

myself as far as possible from factory farming. Sheep have been

selectively bred to produce a ridiculous amount of wool-did you

really think shearing was natural? It's also intensive farming of

sentient beings which I do not agree with.

That's just the way I see it.

Also-took part in the protest in Plymouth-great turnout, loads of

people from as far afield as Southampton and Birmingham-thankyou to

everyone who turned up to let people know we're not going to let it

all happen quietly just because we're Plymouth. Some people were

arrested for sitting down near the entrance of the main Dockyard

gates-they were read their rights twice, asked to leave and refused

so were arrested-all in good cause. Would have stayed and joined the

party down at the cop shop but figured it was too much hassle this

time. I marched with some friends of mine holding a banner reading

www.indymedia.org.uk -which you can check out for photos, news and

maybe a video?? of what happened today.
