MAinly by fixing the root problem of unhealthy eating instead of just the temporary fixes of the symptom of extra weight.<br><br>I use the word diet as a long term eating pattern. Which I think is generally what people intend when they go on diets, it just doesn't always work. <br><br>:-) and I could only dream of size ten! LOL Big enough to have medical problems from the unhealthy weight is a bit different to me that the eating disorders to lose the fat that no one except them thinks they have. But you have to count calories, write down what you're eating, etc. which can be a bit boring. Also, I think they emphasise the losing weight part and I feel they don't encourage a healthy balanced diet enough. You can eat what you like as long as it's within your daily 'points' system. There are also several no fat/low fat recipes. For quite some time I beleived it was perfectly okay to be on a low fat/no fat diet, when in actual fact I've since found out it can harm you. I had been avoiding all forms of fat including essential fatty acids [which apparently can help you lose weight] I have recently been reading about food combining which can help you lose weight and not have to be counting calories all the time. I have ordered the vegetarian food combining book and I beleive they have vegan recipes in it. Although it would be good to shed a few pounds I'm now more concerned that I have a healthy balanced diet, so it would be a bonus to lose weight. Anyway, I'd suggest it's worth a read.
