Guest guest
this is not particularly vegan so i was going to take it " Off List " . but then i thought it might be fun to run it. > There's a thread on Vegan UK on why some vegans sometimes feel > ashamed to be associated with other vegans. Comments like yours - > and I'm not blind to the deaths caused by US foreign policy - are a good > example of why. did you hear the latest about Royal Intervention in Afganistan Crisis ... apparently Prince Charles was seeking a personal audience with Osama bin Laden? he has a list of building that he would like knocked down, no questions asked ... [ ha ha ... it is a joke. probably not for the FT. but i made it up all by myself and am so proud of it ! for those of you that cant remember or did not know, P. Charles had it in for Modernist architecture in a big way. Note, the divebombers did not aim for a Neo-Gothic Georgian Church but chose brace of right carbunkles ]. Ian, if you only new how shameful I am to be associated with ... but you are coming across awfully priggish and superior in your email and turning things into a personal attack which i dont like on this list.. measure my crimes against their crimes ... and i mean the ones in suits. > My last major contract was with FT.com. I'm far from the only vegan that > works in the city. really? are there two now? will they come out for dinner with us? are they nice? given a chance, i'd sleep with the enemy or even meet with a fifth column. yes, there were nice, ordinary, decent people working for the Waffen SS too. actually, I know one vegetarian working for an ethical broker but that is it. oh and rob [ the spacevegan ] who is on the list and hacks somewhere in the bowels of a bank in Canary Wharf. > Do I deserve to die? may be. a lack of a sense of humour at times like this is fatal in society. if you are personally profiting from the blood machine why should you not share in the kick backs when they come? what did you do for the FT? >What about the people that gave > to my leaving collection for Compassion in World Farming? did they give more than they spent on their last lamb chop and quail eggs dinner in The Ivy? i always thought the charity giving and The City was icing on shite to be honest. however nice and pretty you try to make it, once you sink your teeth into it, metaphorically speaking, it still smells and taste like shite. i salute the courageous sacrfice those brave young men made, if it was in good intent. The City, Wall Street, et al have conspiring to murder not just millions but even our planet's future. i liken it to those that suffered trying to kill Hitler. The City is a pyramid of power built upon the needless misery and suffering of millions over generation and generation; war, slavery, genocide, human rights abuse, profits from pushing food and drugs that cause terminal diseases, environmental despoilation - and we have not even got onto the lower fish and mammal species yet. that is what it does to its own. i am ashamed to be born in such a bloodlusty nation. isn't it time we became like Switzerland or Sweden rather than sucking up to the arse of The Great Statan? > Do they deserve to die? come one, what are the figures for how many die each day directly due to the causes of global capitalism? it is in the realms of hundreds, if not thousands, of 747s worth a day. when do they ever make the headlines? who are these mass murdering terrorists of innocent women and children that perpetrate such crimes? i want my government to hunt them down right now and bring them to justice - " Dead or Alive " ! [ ... and preferably dead because then i dont have to listen to what they have to say and perhaps question my lifestyle. ] oh. these terrorists *ARE* my government ... OOPS! the government in bed with the banks in bed with the oil industry in bed with the military gang banging humanity to pay the mortgage, buy a better car and put the kids through private school. what does it take to make these Mammonists to wake up to the damage that is being done? i dont say deserve because I am not in the judgement seat but i will say enevitable, understandable, perhaps even justifiable. i just find it gratifying when what went around finally comes back around. the fetid breads return on their poisoned waters. given the choice of a few arable Afgani peasants or a Wall Street banker or two, who is God going to chose first? where do you or i fit in on that scale? make ' em sit down, read Adam Smith, internalise their externalities, and we might have a conversation on the go. either they go to hell or we all do. so, what would you say is next? anthrax attacks in the London Underground, a nuclear attack on Zionist occupied Palestine? unfortunately, my bet is that it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better and i can see it getting better sooner. how long will it take a tiny minority of humanity that are screwing things up so badly for everyone else - and all time - to learn what it said in the Bible 3000 years ago? that we are here to look after the planet, the environment and all species, in trust. and not own and abuse it for short term gains? and BTW, how long have you been vegan. it may not have been proportionately long enough for your old way of life to have been washed form your soul. we are all fundimentalist born again vegans in here you know. john
