Guest guest
Today I got the old " but what do you eat, where do you get your protein, blah blah blah " at work and I just wasn't in the mood, so I was a bit impatient with my colleague, and didn't really give her a proper answer. A while back I bought a load of books from a jumble sale for 10p each, including Rose Elliot's 'Not just a load of old lentils' which while not totally vegan is getting there, and answers a lot of the questions we seem to get asked every time we " come out " . Anyway, I regretted my earlier impatience, so I fished the book out at lunchtime and took it in to work and gave it to my colleague, explaining that it was just a jumble sale copy but if she was really interested in the subject she was welcome to have it. I was half expecting polite refusal, but she seemed quite interested (I don't think she was just being polite). Even if she was being polite she might glance at it before chucking it away - AND - I got out of having to do the " I have a perfectly well balanced diet actually...no really, I do! Guest guest
Nice going there! Congratulations...I find at home that as long as I don't tell my dad it's vegan, he loves it I guess the meat eater never really pays too much attention to his 'side dishes' (aka plant food), so he can't imagine what it's like to not have the meat...all I can say is keep feeding the ungelievers, and share out recipes, along the lines of Vegan: 'I had the BEST dinner last night' Meat eater: 'Oh yeah, what was it?' V: 'well, it consisted of...' and make it sound as great as it was. That way, you keep showing people that your diet isn't boring or one sided...I don't know. But giving them good vegan food (at lunch and such) really gets them to come round, especially if it looks interesting. See ya, Katt _______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
