i sent that mail on to a friend [ sort of ] that works in the city and

got a somewhat cold and snotty reply that included:

what is the real low down on nike?

 

it a bugger when anotherwise good swipe at corporate immorality blows

itself out of the waters by depending on an technical inaccuracy that

destroys its credibility and is jumped on by the guilty.

 

so if you are going to send it, change the nationality to chinese and add

the Hong Kong stock market listing.

Bob Blomberg, you just kill me. you are so divine it is impossible! yeah,

i know that may well be right and admire you for your spiritual capacity

*if* you can walk your talk. i would just add in a caveat of " spiritual

self defense " . unless you are superhuman - and may be it is path to

becoming superhuman - you have to allow a bit of space for your self to

be free of the psychotic attacks and irrational criticisms of meat

eaters.

 

you have to balance life with the joys and pleasures of being in the

company of likeminded souls. i am not convinced that getting yourself

nailed to a tree actually works in leading humanity to enlightenment. if

that means cutting right back on an old friendship then it has to be.

 

just like children, folks need clear lines defined in relationships so

that they appreciate what is acceptible behaviour and what is not. i

would say that sometime that includes a clear line which if someone steps

over the relationship is cut. at least for sometime, if not for ever.

 

i have often founded that it is sometimes enough and necessary to waken

people up. if a relationship hurts, if a friendship is offensive or

abusive how long do you have to stick it? may be the lessen is to learn

how to let go or defend. a little moral indignation now and again is

hardly sinful. would not necessarily call it intolerance.

 

but well done, you come a long way for a horseracing fan!

 

would domesticate horses survive if they were left in the wild? probably,

like the Dartmoor ponies but is there any wild left? not a lot.

 

i guess the ethical way to enjoy horse riding is by looking after the one

you have until it dies, not buying your own but volunteering at an

equestrian refuge centre, and by volunteering to exercise other " cold

and miserable " ones fenced up in fields that would otherwise be

neglected. i reckon they probably appreciate that. that way you

conscience can be clear.

 

trouble with being vegan is that it spill out into other areas of your

life and your values changed. can someone conscience spending hundreds or

thousands on a horse as a vanity when that same money could feed a

village in africa or india?

 

humanity has a responsible to the living beings we have tied into our

evolution but has to be weaned of its addiction to them.
