Guest guest
Hi, it's great that you've deciding to go vegan! I'm not sure what sort of tips etc you mean, since being vegan encompasses so much. I would say that you should have a very clear idea of your reasons for going vegan. You won't get very far if you just have a nebulous idea that going vegan is a good thing and will make a fun New Year's Resolution. Maybe it would help if you told us why you're going vegan? If it's for animal rights reasons (probably the most common) then you should read up on how animals are treated (everyone should do this anyway!). Then every time you find yourself tempted to eat something non-vegan you just have to remember how that animal was treated. Also make sure you know enough basic nutrition. Most people who eat meat hardly eat that healthily anyway, but as soon as someone becomes vegan their diet becomes subject of great scrutiny and if you don't feel full of health it's immediately blamed on not eating meat and dairy. You are also likely to be making a big change in what you eat, so if you don't get help then it's quite possible you won't get all your nutrients, even though a balanced vegan diet is one of the healthiest there is. The Vegan Society website has some useful information, especially on its nutrition section: www.vegansociety.com In terms of recipes, everyone has their favourites and they're usually quite simple. Think of some of your current favourite foods and then think about how they can be made vegan. You can get vegan meat replacements, vegan cheese, vegan milk, vegan yoghurt etc. Good luck! , " fanny.mcgee " <fanny.mcgee wrote: > > Hi Folks > > I have decided to become a vegan as a new years resolution, can anyone > give me any top tips tasty recipies or other advice.
